Yes, it is possible to enjoy older version software so much that you yearn to use it again. Perhaps you have recently been thinking about the first word processing program you used, and would like to relive some memories by installing it on your computer once again. 
Maybe the only accounting software you have ever used is now a few years old, but you do not feel like relearning a whole new program just to complete some simple tasks. If so, you can always buy old version programs from a software reseller that stocks some of the most popular older versions. This way, you not only have the software on your computer to use when you want it, but you can also show it off to your descendants in the future, as it may be impressive to have proof that you used the earliest version of a particular program.
Compatibility
If your computer has not been updated in years, you might find that the only software that works well is the older versions. If your video card, hard drive, or RAM is not new enough to run the latest programs, you will not be able to get any use out of new software. Even when the programs still run, you might be missing several components, meaning that you are not getting your money’s worth. If your computer cannot run new software in its entirety, or at all, you should buy old software. This is especially true if you only use your computer for basic tasks, such as browsing the Internet or word processing, as it may not be worth it to completely upgrade your system just to run a new program. To avoid wasting your money on new software that you cannot use, check the compatibility requirements before making your purchase. If it is clear that your computer is too outdated to run it, look into older version software instead.
